ACMEWA

ACMEWA Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering children through early education and leadership development across West Africa. We believe every child deserves the chance to learn, grow, and lead. Through our advocacy and community-based programs, we raise awareness about the power of education and provide direct support where it’s needed most.

Our initiatives include child sponsorships, scholarship funding, nutritional feeding programs, and mentorship opportunities—all designed to remove barriers to learning and unlock each child’s potential. With a vision for lasting change, ACMEWA is building a generation of educated, confident, and compassionate leaders who will shape brighter futures for their communities.

My story is a tapestry woven with heartbreak and hope that began in the shadows of Liberia’s civil war. I lost my mother to the ravages of childbirth at the age of 5, and soon after, my baby brother slipped away because life-saving medicine was impossible to find in a country torn by violence and hopelessness. Their loss left my world shattered, plunging me into years of hunger, fear, and endless uncertainty.

Growing up in a war zone, I witnessed unimaginable suffering, children robbed of their innocence, families torn apart, and dreams crushed before they could even begin. The conflict didn’t just steal homes; it ripped away the chance to learn, to play, to hope. For years, poverty kept me from school, and when I finally walked into a classroom at age twelve, I was surrounded by classmates much younger than myself. But I refused to let shame or circumstance silence my voice or snuff out my dreams.

My journey is not mine alone. It is the echo of millions of children still deprived of the right to education and a future. Through grief, I found a calling: education is not just the gift of knowledge, it is the spark of dignity, the promise of freedom, and the light at the end of the tunnel. With this belief burning in my heart, I founded the Advocacy for Children Media Education in West Africa Foundation (ACMEWA).

Our mission is urgent and deeply personal: to ensure every child can learn, lead, and dream, regardless of where they were born or what they have endured.

Today, ACMEWA brings hope where it is needed most by offering early childhood education, scholarships, nutritious meals, and mentorship that shatter the barriers I once faced. Education is not a privilege; it is an undeniable right and the key to brighter, more peaceful tomorrows for entire communities.

But I cannot do this alone. I am asking you, someone with the power to change lives, to join our movement. Be the reason a child stays in school, laughs without fear, and imagines a future full of possibilities. Every donation, every act of kindness, every story shared sends waves of hope that heal not only one child or one classroom but also generations yet to come. Together, we can transform pain into purpose and purpose into possibility. Will you help us turn heartbreak into hope?

Join us. Because when a child learns, the world grows brighter.
