ACMEWA

ACMEWA Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering children through early education and leadership development across West Africa. We believe every child deserves the chance to learn, grow, and lead. Through our advocacy and community-based programs, we raise awareness about the power of education and provide direct support where it’s needed most.

Our initiatives include child sponsorships, scholarship funding, nutritional feeding programs, and mentorship opportunities—all designed to remove barriers to learning and unlock each child’s potential. With a vision for lasting change, ACMEWA is building a generation of educated, confident, and compassionate leaders who will shape brighter futures for their communities.

Mission

To create hope for children’s early education and develop tomorrow’s leaders.

Vision

A future where education empowers every child to become a leader of change.

The CEO, How It All Started

My story begins in the shadow of hardship, shaped by personal tragedy and the turmoil of Liberia’s civil war. I lost my mother during childbirth, and not long after, my younger brother passed away because medicine was out of reach in a nation torn apart by conflict. Their loss marked the beginning of countless struggles, years filled with uncertainty, hunger, and survival.

Growing up amid war, I saw suffering that no child should ever endure. The conflict didn’t just destroy homes; it stole opportunities, dreams, and access to education. Financial hardship kept me out of school for years, and when I finally sat in a classroom, I was 12 years old, surrounded by children half my age. Yet I refused to let shame or circumstance define my future. My journey is not mine alone. It reflects the reality of millions of children still denied the right to learn. Through my pain, I found purpose: education is more than knowledge; it is hope, dignity, and freedom.

Determined to transform struggle into service, I founded the Advocacy for Children Media Education in West Africa Foundation (ACMEWA), a movement dedicated to giving every child the chance to learn, to lead, and to dream, no matter where they were born. Today, ACMEWA provides early education support, scholarships, nutritional feeding, and mentorship programs that help children overcome the barriers I once faced. I believe that education is not a privilege; it is a right. It is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty and building stronger, more peaceful communities.

But I cannot do this alone. I invite you to stand with me to be the reason a child stays in school, smiles again, and dares to dream. Every gift, every act of kindness, every shared story creates ripples of hope that reach far beyond one classroom or one child. Together, we can turn pain into purpose and purpose into possibility.

Join us. Because when a child learns, the world grows brighter.
